Sex Pistols: No Future U.K.?

BLUEGRASS CLASSICS from YESTERDAY & TODAY

Where SOUND TRADITIONS meet NEW TRADITIONS !

BLUEGRASS GOES BACK TO THE FUTURE contains 16 tracks, each either a certified classic performance, or a newer classic in waiting , compiled on one project. Here we have the opportunity to see how Bluegrass music and its close cousin genres have evolved, changed, and even stayed the same. As the world around it has changed, so has the music in it, and it is astonishing to see the differences and the parallels of yesterday and today played out through such a vibrant musical art form.

Produced, compiled and liner notes by Grammy ® Nominee JIM VAN CLEVE, this unique new collection brings together many Bluegrass Legends with today s young Bluegrass Hit makers bridging where SOUND TRADITIONS meet NEW TRADITIONS in Bluegrass Music.

Careful attention has been given to the selection and content of songs which adds to the charm of this special collection. Earl Taylor & Jim McCall s 1971 version of Where You Gonna Hide? is followed by Jim s son, and J.D. Crowe & The New South member, Dwight McCall s version of the same song recorded 33 years later in 2003.

Also, a common thread can be found between many of the songs on this collection for example the 2 songs that open up the album are both traveling songs; Lonesome Road Blues by Hylo Brown & The Timberlines and the recent hit Going On The Next Train by Carrie Hassler & Hard Rain, followed by 2 hard luck songs; Ani t Nobody Gonna Miss Me When I m Gone by Red Smiley and Way It Always Seems To Go by Jim Van Cleve and 2 train songs; The Georgia Mail by Mac Wiseman and If All Those Trains Were Still Around by Randy Kohrs, and so on.

Evolution, where Bluegrass and Acoustic music is concerned, has recently blurred their own lines. You will hear the sounds of today and of yesterday, and more curiously the sounds of tomorrow throughout this musical odyssey.
