Gold Medal Penny Stocks Releases New Lesson on Online Trading School

Gold Medal Penny Stocks had announced some time ago that they had started an online trading school to help new investors get acquainted with the various aspects of the stock market. The new lesson follows on top of others on topics such as the relative strength index (RSI) and an explanation of the Market Maker Shake. One of the most commonly used forms of technical analysis is finding levels of support and levels of resistance. At its core, a support level is a trading price-range where enough traders will bid or slap the ask down that the price will not easily dip below that level. A resistance is sort of the opposite. A resistance level is a trading price-range where traders expect the share price to go down from, so they start selling at resistance levels to take profits before a larger downward move gains momentum.

Gold Medal Penny Stocks Swing Trade Alert, Pitooey

On the initial day of the PTOO alert, traders were welcomed by volume exceeding four times the previous three months daily dollar volume average. On top of that, the share price rose by 4.55%. To technical traders, high volume in combination of gains and a strong bullish candle mean one thing: accumulation. Shares are being soaked up at current levels, and volume is rapidly increasing since May began. It was also nice to see a close at the high of the day, $1.15 per share.

Did you catch our PTOO alert in your inbox?  It’s not too late. Check out the PTOO profile here! http://goldmedalpennystocks.com

Being a swing trade or longer-term hold play in nature, PTOO isn’t done yet in the opinions of the Gold Medal Penny Stocks trading team. This is day one of what may be up to a several month long play, and things are just getting going. Many traders initially accumulated PTOO shares at prices over $1.35 per share. There has been no significant volume sell-off to justify the price decline since those levels, so it is assumed that many traders are still hoping to push the share price above those old levels to come out of PTOO with a profit.

With eyes on Europe, U.S. stocks plunge

U.S. stocks fell the most in 14 months last week on concern Europe's leaders cannot contain the government debt crisis. A rout Thursday briefly erased more than $1 trillion in market value as the Dow fell almost 1,000 points, its biggest percentage loss since 1987, before paring losses.

Industrial and materials companies led declines in the Standard & Poor's 500-stock index as all 10 industry groups fell. Alcoa, General Electric, Hewlett-Packard and American Express led the Dow lower, each tumbling at least 10 percent. All 30 Dow stocks dropped except Kraft Foods.

The S&P 500 slumped 6.4 percent to 1,110.88, wiping out its advance for this year. The Dow lost 628.18 points, or 5.7 percent, to 10,380.43. Both had the largest weekly losses since March 2009.

"We have a massive debt bubble globally and it's going to take a decade or more to get back to reasonable, sustainable levels," said George Feiger, chief executive of Contango Capital Advisors. "There's this deep need to believe that the problems are over but the old system, the old opportunities, aren't coming back, at least not for many years."

Federal regulators are reviewing Thursday's plunge to determine whether the fivefold increase in the number of American equity exchanges has left them unable to manage surges in volume. The SEC will also examine if controls weren't in place.

The Treasury will sell $26 billion in three- and six-month bills on Monday. They yielded 0.14 percent and 0.20 percent in when-issued trading. The U.S. government also plans to sell $38 billion in three-year notes Tuesday, $24 billion in 10-year Treasury notes Wednesday and $16 billion in 30-year bonds Thursday. They yielded 1.35 percent, 3.43 percent and 4.28 percent in when-issued trading.

U.S. stocks rise for the first time in two weeks

U.S. stocks rose, halting a two-week slump, as an almost $1 trillion aid package for indebted European nations triggered the biggest daily rally in a year and drove up shares of Boeing, Caterpillar and Apple.

The Standard & Poor's 500-stock index pared its weekly gain Friday on concern the plan won't solve the debt crisis. Boeing and Caterpillar, which rose more than 4.4 percent for the week, helped manufacturers lead the market's rally, while Apple jumped 7.6 percent. Morgan Stanley lost 2.4 percent as New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo subpoenaed the firm and seven other banks to see whether they misled credit-rating firms on mortgage-backed securities, a person familiar with the situation said.

The S&P 500 gained 2.2 percent to 1135.68. The Dow Jones industrial average advanced 239.73 points, or 2.3 percent, to 10,620.16, rebounding from the 628.18-point retreat the prior week.

"The recovery is in place," said Jeff Saut, the chief investment strategist at Raymond James & Associates, which manages $230 billion in St. Petersburg, Fla. "U.S. economic fundamentals are good. European issues pose a problem for Europe. I don't think it compromises the global recovery."

The S&P closed at a 19-month high of 1,217.28 April 23 before retreating on concern that budget deficits in Greece, Portugal and Spain will curtail global economic growth. Stocks fell Friday even after U.S. government reports showed retail sales rose 0.4 percent in April, twice the median economist estimate.

The Treasury will sell $26 billion of three-month bills and the same amount of six-month securities on Monday. The size of the May 18 auction of four-week bills has yet to be determined.

United States stocks, bonds, mutual funds see a net outflow of $ 34 billion in August, 2011, said strategic Insight

In an unusually volatile month, nervous that investors redeemed about $ 34 billion in cash from the United States stock and bond mutual funds in August 2011 (open and closed-end mutual funds, with the exception of ETFs and funds underlying variable annuities). August marked the third straight month of net resource outflows of long-term funds, after net outflows of 16 billion dollars in July, according to Strategic Insight, a provider of business intelligence in the industry worldwide.

Fund shareholders are clearly shaken by the drama last month. August began with a prolonged political battle over the Federal Government's debt ceiling, and a poor decision on standard & 5 August to lower the United States's long-term credit rating from AAA to AA +. S P 500 index & August ended down 5.4%, but experienced severe declines and rebounds along the way.

Mutual funds shares saw a surge of net resource outflows during the second week of August, but then the net outflow slowed to the pace more in line with recent months activity. "Our research over the last two decades shows that the foreclosure spikes after the stock market declines are usually limited in scope and did not last long," says Avi Nachmany, Director of research of the SI. "However, the continuing doubts about the United States economy and European sovereign debt problems reducing investors ' appetite for risk."

Equity mutual funds saw net outflows of 23 billion dollars in August, compared with a net outflow of resources from 24 billion dollars in July. United States equity funds saw a net outflow of 21.4 billion dollars in August, and international/global equity funds saw a net outflow of $ 1.4 billion.

Bond mutual funds saw net outflows of $ 11 billion, compared with a net inflow of 8 billion dollars in July. Taxable bond funds experienced a net outflow of $ 10 billion and Muni Bond funds experienced net outflows of 1 billion dollars. Leading position in net outflows were floating rate and high yield bond funds, both of which are sensitive to fears of a recession. The bright spots were corporate short-term and intermediate maturity of bond funds, which together brought in 6 billion in positive flow as some investors continued to look for alternatives to low-yielding cash.

Bond funds ' net flows seem to turn positive in late August, "said Mr. Nachmany. "Given the expectation of continued instability and the Federal Reserve to keep interest rates extremely low, demand for bond funds should rebound selection."

Money market funds saw a net inflow of 69 billion dollars in August, benefited from a flight to safety. It was a reversal from July, when money was a net outflow of $ 113 billion. In the first eight months of the year 2011 funds suffered a net outflow of total 183 billion dollars.

ETFs: Separately, Strategic Insight said that funds (ETFs), Exchange-Traded US in August, survived a nearly $ 1 billion in net inflows. Leading in net flows were a great mix of ETFs (about $ 5 billion in inflows), leveraged ETFs ($ 3 billion) and bond ETFs ultra-short time $ 2 billion); Diversified markets ETFs saw the biggest net outflows (nearly $ 2 billion).

Through the first eight months of the year 2011 with ETFs (ETNs) saw a net inflow of $ 89 billion, pace that can still produce for the fifth consecutive year, 100 billion dollars or more inflows into ETFs. At the end of August 2011 US ETF assets stood at 1.06 trillion dollars.

Strategic Insight, an asset international company, is a leading research firm for the mutual fund and wealth management, providing customers with in-depth studies, consultation and electronic support systems solutions.
